Anmerkung des Herausgebers: This Husqvarna/Viking Eden Rose 250C Limited Edition Review was originally written in 2014, and has been revised and updated in 2023. Since this product was a limited time release, it is no longer in production. We have added alternatives such as Brother Innov-ís Pacesetter PS500, Brother SE1900, Und Juki HZL-F600 .
While visiting Factory Sewing and Vacuum in Lantana, Florida, I came upon a limited edition Husqvarna/Viking Eden Rose 250C.
I hadn’t read anything about this machine and was a bit surprised that the folks at Husqvarna/Viking were going back to the florals.
For those who aren’t aware, before using the names of precious and semi-precious stones, all Husqvarna/Viking sewing machines bore the names of flowers.

Additionally, it comes with a range of accessories, including presser feet, bobbins, needles, and more. The Husqvarna/Viking Eden Rose 250C is a versatile and reliable sewing machine that offers advanced features for precise and efficient sewing.
Since this product was a limited time release, it is no longer manufactured. We recommend trying out other alternatives that we have added to this post.
The Husqvarna/Viking Eden Rose 250C has a rose emblazoned on the front and the monochromatic LCD screen and function keys are mounted on rose colored panels.

There is little wonder that I was drawn to this machine. Roses are my favorite flowers and pink is my favorite color.

With this combination, there is no wonder at all that I found the Husqvarna/Viking Eden Rose 250C to be one of the most eye-pleasing sewing machines I’ve seen in quite a while.
Once you get past the aesthetics, you notice the clear see through bobbin cover which allows you to see exactly how much thread is available on the drop in bobbin.
There is also an on board ruler, and touch pads to control: needle up/down; presser foot up/down; reverse stitch; design stop; speed control; and fix.
The LCD screen, stitch selection menu touch pad and fabric selection pad are on the other side of the extra-large workspace.
A quick reference stitch selection guide is located inside the lid of the Husqvarna/Viking Eden Rose 250 along with the threading and bobbin winding mechanism.
What are some alternatives for Husqvarna/Viking Eden Rose 250C Limited Edition?
Wir haben in dieser Rezension bereits erwähnt, dass die Husqvarna/Viking Eden Rose 250C is a limited edition launch and is no longer manufactured. Here are some alternatives that we recommend.
Die Nähmaschine Husqvarna Viking Jade 20 kombiniert nahtlos modernste Funktionen mit einem schlanken, modernen Design. The Pacesetter PS500 Sewing Machine is a must-have tool for anyone who enjoys sewing using high-end technical capabilities. If you desire a sewing and embroidery machine, it is a fantastic choice to take into account. Whatever your sewing demands may be, it is svelte and fashionable.
100 built-in stitches, 4 built-in lettering fonts, and 7 different one-step buttonholes are included, giving you enough options to choose from while sewing. The flip-up stitch panel displays all of the built-in stitches. The electronic speed control can be adjusted up to 850 stitches per minute. Large quilts and projects can fit in the extended work area, which is 8.3" from needle to arm.
Threading a needle is quick and simple thanks to the integrated needle threader mechanism. Additionally, it has a manual thread tension control and an automated thread cutter. It has a button that will automatically cut your thread. You only need to press it once, which is located on the sewing machine arm. When you press the button, it automatically cuts the top and bottom threads.
If you want the best computerized sewing machine to achieve your quilting and sewing goals, then feel free to purchase Juki HZL’s Computerized Sewing and Quilting Machine. Why this one? The reason is that this model carries the ability to grab your attention through its amazing features and user-friendly design.
Unlike other quilting machines, the F600 has a sturdier motor to help you sew thick fabrics such as denim and multiple quilting layers. Then, with the 255 stitch patterns, and 16 automatic buttonholes, you can create wonderful designs.
One of the best parts is that the machine makes your work easier via bright LED lighting and a box feed system that ensures precise stitches. Hence, it will not mess up difficult stitching.

Working on the Husqvarna/Viking Eden Rose 250C Limited Edition
I found that working on the Husqvarna/Viking Eden Rose 250C Limited Edition is quite similar to working on the Sapphire and a few other Husqvarna/Viking sewing machines.
The process for winding the bobbin and threading the machine are identical to many other machines produced by Husqvarna/Viking.

One advantage is that you can wind the bobbin while sewing – a great time saving feature. I like the clear bobbin cover, making it possible for the user to see exactly how much thread is on the bobbin before starting a lengthy custom programmed stitch sequence.
It doesn’t, however, have some of the features available on the more costly Sapphire, Topaz, Opal or Designer Diamond Deluxe. The touch pads are very easy to use.
There are indicators beneath the stitch selection pad which allow you to identify the type of fabric you are working with. Although the Eden Rose has a manual tension adjustment, this feature helps you with that process.

There is a designation for every possible type of fabric you can work with: Licht, medium or heavy woven fabric; light, medium or heavy knit fabric; and leather and suede.
The stitch selection process takes a bit more work than on many other sewing machines. First you must refer to the stitch selection guide to determine in which of the four menu categories the stitch you want is stored.
Next, toggle through the menu catalog to get to the stitch category you want and then dial up the desired stitch on the numerical keypad.
The quality of the stitches made on the Husqvarna/Viking Eden Rose 250C Limited Edition is superlative. Not only did each of the stitches I sampled come out with perfect results, I was impressed with the fact that the despite the manual tension adjustment, none of the stitches I sampled required any tension adjustment whatsoever.

It wasn’t even necessary to adjust the stitch length or width settings in order to achieve perfect results for decorative stitches. The key is to remember to adjust the fabric type setting first.

Husqvarna/Viking Eden Rose 250C Limited Edition Zusammenfassung
The Husqvarna/Viking Eden Rose 250C is a great alternative to its higher priced counterparts. It has fewer stitch options and doesn’t have some of the other features found on computerized sewing machines, like a start/stop button, but it does have everything necessary to make your sewing experience a good one.
The easy to use touchpads and keypad are ergonomically situated to make your time at the sewing machine as comfortable as possible, limiting the likelihood of syndrome, back shoulder, neck and wrist pain.
If you only sew sporadically or not for lengthy stretches of time, this may not be a consideration. However, if like me, you spend hours on end in the sewing room, ergonomics become a critical factor to consider when thinking about purchasing a new sewing machine.
The stitch quality is excellent and although the selection process is a bit cumbersome, it is not impossible to master. I don’t recommend this machine for use by a child, but a teen or adult who has never used a sewing machine before might be very comfortable with this machine.
People who have been sewing for a very long time will appreciate the stitch quality and convenient features like automatic needle threading and design stitch stop.
In addition to the start/stop function, I also noted that other function features not available on the Eden Rose 250C include an automatic thread cutter [there is a manual thread cutter on the right hand side of the machine head].
The Eden Rose 250C offers only 145 decorative and utility stitch options, but who really needs several hundred stitches to choose from.
In actuality, most people never use more than a small percentage of the stitches offered on those computerized sewing machines that also come with quilting and embroidery options.
With the Eden Rose 250C, you get all the great features of these machines without the additional bells and whistles.
With the purchase of the limited edition Eden Rose 250C, you do, however, have the benefit of the exclusive Eden Rose presser foot kit, which includes a gathering, a clear piping foot and a braiding foot.
When it’s all said and done, I believe the Husqvarna/Viking Eden Rose 250C Limited Edition is a good computerized sewing machine… especially if your main focus in the sewing room is fashion sewing.
With the Eden Rose, you will not get an embroidery unit or any quilting accessories or stitch options. What you will get, however is a very good basic sewing machine that with proper care and maintenance will serve you for many years to come.
When compared to other Husqvarna/Viking computerized sewing machines, the Eden Rose 250C Limited Edition is less costly, which is another advantage if you are not looking for an embroidery or quilting machine.
If you enjoy fashion sewing and are in the market for a new computerized sewing machine, take the time to visit your Husqvarna/Viking dealer and ask for a demonstration of the Eden Rose 250C. Remember that this is a limited edition machine, so don’t wait too long before checking this one out.

Viel Spaß beim Nähen.
This was a very helpful review. I am looking for a new machine to make clothing and am not particularly interested in embroidery or quilting. I looked at a Viking but the very nice woman A) didn’t really know how to sew, B) couldn’t adequately demonstrate any of the overcast or finishing stitches that I really need for fine garments and C) immediately showed me a machine 4 times greater than my stated budget. This one may fit the bill . . . but it’s an important purchase so I want to make sure I get the right thing. My current machine (broken, I won’t fix it again) had problems with the feed so I’m interested in a walking foot. This model doesn’t seem to have one. What else might you suggest for me?
Peggy,if you have not already purchased this machine, I highly recommend it. I walked into a viking gallery last year after after being fed up with my crappy old Kenmore machine. I didn’t really know how to sew, but the sales person showed me a demonstration on the Eden Rose 250c and sold me the floor model on the end of the year sale. I have never been happier. I’d does everything you could want for clothes making, home decorating, and regular fix-it (I have a 5year old). I had pretty much given up thinking I couldn’t sew due to the old Kenmore machine that was always broken, but now with my new Eden Rose I make costumes, curtains, bedspreads, doll clothes, alterations, etc. Believe me, if I can learn on this machine, anyone can!
You can purchase a walking foot separately. It is an optional accessory. I like the quality of Husqvarna accessories. I am not sure why you do not recommend this particular machine for quilters other than it doesnot have a start/stop button or scissors. I find I do not use the scissors when I FMQ as I do not like birds nests on the underside of my quilts. Love the hover/pivot feature. This machine has some good options at a good price point…
I use the viking eden rose for clothing and quilting I like the fact it doesn’t have a start stop button. In the past this button would mess me up and not having the cutter is not a problem. I have the walking foot. The machine was made for woven to knit it will not take too well to canvas vinyl leather. But since i quilt and sew clothes it’s wonderful for me.
Thank you for the advice. I was looking at Viking Eden Rose model but wanted a bit more flexibility to work on heavier materials in addition to fine garments. I ended up with the Janome Memorycraft 6300 — a heavy machine but so far appears to be functioning perfectly for my needs. I’ll update as I get more experience with it but am thrilled so far.
Please email me the least expensive Husqvarna/Viking Eden Rose 250C “Walking Foot” for quilting. I really need one! Thank you so much!
I HATE this machine! You can sew a 12 inch line and end up with 3 different stitch widths and forget about trying to quilt! I have had this repaired 3 X and it’s still messed up! I wish I had never bought the thing.
I have this machine and do use it for general purpose sewing, some quilting with a walking foot and crafting. I would have to disagree with the limitation on fabric types stated above. I have worked with vinyl, sheer knit, burlap and have repaired and sewn patches on motorcycle leather vests with no problems at all. Making sure to use the proper needle and take your time on very thick leather are two tips I would offer. Very happy with my Eden Rose. After using another machine with the automatic cutter feature, that is the only thing that i would say is missing. If I’m sewing in the middle of a large piece, I can see where the cutter would waste less thread.
I have this model and bought it to use for quilts, hand women’s and Roman shades. From the beginning it sounded strange but authorized selling store said it was okay. Have had it serviced regularly but this year, just beginning third year, it had begun to say in window, “main motor overload, please wait”. I’m taking it in to shop but am very unhappy as now it won’t even turn on. Reading on line I see others have experienced this problem and repair was $500.00. I paid over a thousand for this machine and very concerned this could happen again. Anyone else experience this?
I have this machine and am having difficulty figuring out how to free motion quilt. I have put it on the setting, the but tension in the under stitch is all wrong. Please let me know what I need to do.
If I had to buy the Eden Rose again I definitely would not!!! It is very confusing and noisy! And now after reading the other reviews I find that I wasted my money.
