Anmerkung des Herausgebers: This Dyno Easy Stitcher Review was originally written in 2013, and has been revised and updated on 2023. We have added similar alternatives such as Magicfly Portable Sewing Machines, SINGER | Brilliance 6180, Und Elnita EM16.
I finally got a chance to review the Dyno Easy Stitcher sewing machine after a friend asked me to take a look at one that she bought recently. Her intentions were to give it to her seven-year-old granddaughter, but she wanted me to check it out first.

Compact and easy to store, this sewing machine is an excellent addition to any sewing corner, providing the convenience and reliability you need for both everyday tasks and creative endeavors. Whether you're a DIY enthusiast, a hobbyist, or simply someone who appreciates the art of sewing, the Dyno Merchandise Easy Stitcher Sewing Machine is your versatile companion for bringing your fabric creations to life.
To look at it, one immediately thinks that it would be a great machine for a young child. It appears to be very simple and easy to operate.
The Easy Stitcher comes pre-threaded and ready to go. There is a bobbin loaded on the front spindle, which is threaded to the needle. The bobbin is already loaded and in its case. All that is needed is to simply sit down and go to work.
For those occasions when users don’t want to use a bobbin in the upper thread position, the Easy Stitcher also has a telescoping spool pin.
There are also three huge red buttons on the front. The top button turns the Licht on and off. The center button operates the start/stop function, and the button in the bottom position is the speed control.
There are also two other red buttons on the base: a reverse/lock button, which is pushed down to operate, and a stitch length adjustment slider button.
What are the features on Dyno Easy Stitcher?
For a Nähmaschine this compact, the Dyno Easy Stitcher has a lot more features than I expected to find.
- Einstellbare Stichlänge
- Reverse/lock stitching
- Spule einlegen
Working on the Dyno Easy Stitcher
When you see a sewing machine with the standard features and accessories that come with the Dyno Easy Stitcher, even one this inexpensive, you may not have a lot of expectations. However, you do expect it to operate more smoothly than this one.
First of all, since the machine was already pre-threaded, I decided to try a couple of stitches. It is loud, slow, and the stitch quality is unsatisfactory. After stitching, it is impossible to simply lift the presser foot and pull the finished seam away from the machine, as with any other sewing machine.
Before I was able to move the fabric from beneath the presser foot, it was necessary to move the number 3 thread guide from left to right in order to advance the thread before I was able to get clearance to cut the thread.
There is an option to use either a bobbin or the telescoping spool pin for the upper thread. The Dyno Easy Stitcher comes with the upper thread already loaded onto the bobbin. When I attempted to remove it and try threading it myself from the spool, I found that following the instructions was a bit more difficult than it appeared to be, or should have been, for that matter.
According to the instructions, the red cap should be easily removed so that the bobbin can be released. Unfortunately, it never budged, and I broke a fingernail in the process.
Threading the Easy Stitcher was not a challenge, and winding the bobbin appeared to be very simple as well. Since all the bobbins that came with the Easy Stitcher were already pre-wound, I could only go through the motions. Setting the bobbin on the pin was easy enough.
Despite the fact that there are easy-to-follow threading guides, there was no guide leading from the spool pin to the bobbin pin. Actually, since there are only a couple of inches between the two, a guide really isn’t necessary.
The clear, see-through bobbin cover is a plus, but again, removing it is no piece of cake. I nearly broke another finger nail before it slid away to expose the bobbin.
What are some alternatives for Dyno Easy Stitcher?
We have reviewed several compact sewing machines similar to the Dyno Easy Stitcher and here are some we highly recommend.
This is a portable and compact mini sewing machine by Magicfly thar features 12 inbuilt stitches including straight, zigzag, and reverse stitch. The Singer Brilliance 6180 is a handy machine feature-wise, although it does lack a few things that would make sewing more comfortable and are available on other Singer devices.
To show off the goods, the 80 built-in stitches can be changed to fit your specific needs and are always set to the best level. The Singer Brilliance portable sewing machine has basic, decorative, and stretch stitches, so it can be used for a wide range of sewing projects. With a maximum sewing speed of 750 stitches per minute, projects can be sewn quickly. The complete machine, from the spool to the needle's eye, can be threaded in only six seconds because of how simple it is to do so. The free arm makes it simple to reach smaller or more challenging-to-reach regions, including cuffs, collars, pant hems, and other areas.

Summary: Dyno Easy Stitcher Review
I had seen this machine on HSN more than once. Of course, the people on television made it look like the greatest thing since sliced bread. After my personal hands-on experience with the Easy Stitcher, I looked up the HSN demonstrations on YouTube.
It’s called the Sew Easy Mini Portable Sewing Machine and has the White brand name emblazoned on the lower left side, but it is the exact same machine.
If it operated at least half as well as the people on television said it would, I’d say the Dyno Easy Stitcher, or Sew Easy Mini Portable Sewing Machine, would be worth the investment. Given the truth about this machine, however, I don’t recommend it for anyone. In my opinion, it’s a piece of junk.
In my opinion, its only redeeming qualities are its extreme light weight and the fact that it is battery operated. The body is made of that really brittle plastic—you know, the type of plastic used to make very inexpensive children’s toys. I expect it would crack in little or no time under normal use – if anyone were to use it at all.
Any child who gets this thing will be turned off from ever trying to learn to sew. My friend told me that the clerk who sold her this particular machine swore by it and claimed that she uses it all the time for mending and small sewing tasks. Of course, I told her to take it back for a refund.
If you are in the market for a toy sewing machine for a young child, or a small machine to use simply for small mending jobs, I suggest you skip this one altogether.
There are lots of other sewing machines on the market, made by long standing sewing machine manufacturers that can do the job and do it well.
In addition, you will find that many are specifically designed for youngsters. The Singer Pixie Plus und das Hello Kitty from Janome come to mind. Those machines stand on the history and reputations of well established sewing machine brands and are far better than the no-name brand machines for children that you might come across.
They are not built to last a long time, but they perform well and are excellent introduction machines for children to learn basic sewing machine operation and maintenance.

How to place the bottom bobin in the machine?
Amonie,
If you are facing the front of the machine, there is a red button on its left side. If you push that, the plastic top of the bottom bobbin pin lifts up and you can change the bobbin. Then:
1. Lift the needle all the way up.
2. Thread the needle leaving at least 10 inches of thread.
3. Make a loop of at least 5 inches with the bottom bobbin thread.
4. Move the loop into the gap between the needle base and the bottom bobbin.
5. Manually rotate the knob at the back of the machine so that the needle moves up and down and, after a few turns, picks the lower bobbin’s thread up
Hope this helps.
Can I get further assistance using the dino easy stitcher. Can you assist me with how to get an instructional manual?
That video made me laugh. They actually mention this machine having an on/off switch as if that’s a bonus instead of something that’s standard.
