Juki MO-1000 Serger-recensie (update 2023)

On my very first visit to Stuart Sew and Vac, I had the pleasure of reviewing the Juki MO1000 Easy Threader. This 2, 3, 4 thread/1, 2 needle serger is possibly the most user friendly serger for home use that I have had an opportunity to review thus far.

To look at it, the Juki MO 1000 Easy Threader looks like any other serger developed for use in the home. When you open the looper cover, however, it’s altogether different. Rather than the thread maze that we have become accustomed to when looking inside the cover, there are two holes for inserting thread, a switch to turn the air on and off and a color coded threading chart that describes the threading process in words and pictures. Essential serging supplies, including a lint brush and screwdriver are also stored inside the looper cover. The key features on this machine are:

Working on the Juki MO-1000

Threading the Juki MO1000 Easy Threader is just what the name implies… easy. I couldn’t believe how simple the process was. All that’s required is to insert about 9-12 inches of thread into the corresponding opening and press the ‘air’ button.

The lower looper threads are sent through the looper and in an instant, they are ready to go. Threading the upper loopers is just as simple. Just follow the guides and the automatic needle threader does the rest. Retracting the blade is as easy as flipping a lever inside the looper cover. Changing the machine settings from 4 threads to 2 or 3 threads is just as simple. Just turn the dial and you’re all set.
The differential feed and stitch length controls are on the right side of the Juki MO 1000 Easy Threader, making it easy for you to swiftly change the stitch length or get perfect curves without stopping your work. The Juki MO Easy Threader can produce seven different stitches:

• 2, 3, or 4 thread overlock
• 3 thread narrow overlock
• 3 thread flatlock
• 3 thread rolled hem
• Frilled 3 thread rolled hem – using differential feed

For this review, I sampled the 4 thread overlock stitch. The stitches are tight, well formed and secure. One serger trick is to pull on both sides of overlock stitches to achieve a ladder stitch. While I was able to accomplish this technique, it took a bit more effort than required when working with some other sergers.

Summary: Juki MO-1000

When the folks at Juki decided to expand their line of sewing machines and sergers for the home, they did not skimp on the really important things – the things that made Juki one of the most respected names in industrial sewing machines. The Juki MO 1000 Easy Threader is not only a sturdy machine, it is also quiet and there is absolutely no vibration whatsoever.So many people get frustrated with sergers because traditionally they had been so difficult to thread properly.
The threading process on the Juki MO 1000 Easy Threader makes this an ideal serger for beginners. After all, the most challenging thing about working with a serger was getting it threaded and this machine has removed that roadblock. The quality of the stitches, the ease with which the machine is set up, and the safety features are added benefits for the beginner as well as for the seasoned home sewer.

I know several people who have been sewing for decades and have given up on using their older sergers simply because they have grown weary of all the work involved in the threading process. No doubt, once they find out how simple it is to thread the Juki MO 1000 Easy Threader, they may reconsider their decision to move forward without having a serger in their sewing rooms.

As I stated above, this is one serger that I feel comfortable recommending for use by beginners. Because of the blade, however, I am not certain that this would be a good choice for very young children – younger than 10 years of age. I definitely recommend the Juki MO 1000 Easy Threader for children beyond elementary school age, teens, young adults and seniors who like to sew and are in the market for a new serger.
With seven different stitch options, smooth and quiet operation, the Juki MO 1000 Easy Threader is an excellent choice, especially if you intend to use it for many, many years to come.
This is one of the most reliable sewing machine brands in the world. The good news is Juki hasn’t sacrificed any of the quality or technological superiority that the Juki brand name was built on in the process.
