Trousse de maquillage fleurie avec fermeture éclair – Patron de couture gratuit
Makeup bags is a must have for every woman! As it’s an essential for day to day use, then why not sew it yourself?
This free sewing makeup bag pattern is one of the most practical patterns I’ve designed. It comes with a small handle on the top of the bag, a zipper to secure your items, and most importantly, it’s sturdy!
I also chose a floral fabric for this design, because I love flowers, but you can choose whatever fabric you desire.
I would recommend the Singer Heavy Duty 4452 Sewing Machine for this makeup bag to ensure you could sew the thicker edges!
How To Sew a Makeup Bag
There are many styles of makeup bags that you can sew. Depending on the type you choose, it will have it’s own set of challenges.
The ones with a zipper, like the pattern below, takes a little more time because you’ll need to trim it to fit the bag, which means you have to make sure you have the right measurements.
There are easier makeup bags to sew that do not have a handle on it, which is great for beginners, and is easier to sew.
About The Makeup Bag Sewing Pattern
I would consider this project to be perfect for intermediate and experienced seamstresses, because it requires sewing techniques and skills to attach each part, especially the top and bottom covers, as well as sewing the bias tape around the edges.

Pattern Directions
1. Cut the fusible interfacing and press it to the wrong side of the fabric. You can always do any measurements you want. But you can also follow the measurements I used.
2. Cut the fabric with 1/2 inch seam allowance from the fusible interfacing.
3. Cut the lining. Use the fabric with the fusible interfacing as a pattern.
4. Make the top and the bottom covers. Sew the lining to the wrong side of both covers.
5. Make the handle. Cut a 3 ½ by 6 ½ rectangular shape from the fabric, sew around the edges, leaving one edge open, turn it and topstitch.
6. Attach the handle to the top cover.
7. Sew one side of the zipper on the top part of the base, add the lining and topstitch.
8. Sew the other side of the zipper to the bottom part of the base, following the same process as the first side.
9. Sew the back part to the one side of the base. Make sure to position the back part in between the lining and the fabric with fusible interfacing, facing right side together. Don’t forget to topstitch.
10. Sew the other side by placing the base in between the back pieces, facing right sides together, forming like a sandwich. Make sure that all the base is in between the lining and the fabric with interfacing.
11. Turn the bag on the lining part and attach the top and bottom covers using pins or clips, then sew around the edges.
12. Cut a bias fabric or use a bias tape to finish all the raw edges.
13. Turn the bag and you’re done!
