Working on the Brother Entrepreneur Pro PR 1000e

    High definition LCD touch screen

Although the Brother Entrepreneur Pro PR 1000e looks intimidating with its ten threads, oversize screen and work table, the one touch automatic threading system makes it surprising easy to thread without tangling the threads in the process.

The mere touch of a button quickly threads each needle in seconds. Once threaded, selecting a design or font and colors is as simple as making a choice from among the many available options with a few touches of the high definition LCD touch screen.

After the design is identified, and the colors selected, executing the selected design is as simple as a touch of a button… the start button to be exact, which changes from red to green when all of the options have been chosen and the machine is ready to go.

When the design is completed, the machine stops automatically and a “Finished Sewing” message appears on the LCD screen, signaling the user that it is safe to remove the project from the machine.

The Entrepreneur Pro PR 1000e also has a memory feature which allows it to pick up where it stopped in case it stops while I the process of sewing a design because the bobbin thread runs out or in the event of a either power surge or a power failure.

We watched the demonstration of the Brother Entrepreneur in awe as it zipped through the process of creating a monogram.

    Design after finished sewing

Generating a monogrammed design for a ball cap was just as easy as switching out the large work table for the optional cap frame and programming the machine to execute the design.

Whether working on a flat or curved surface, the Pro PR 1000e performed with equal ease, speed, accuracy and proficiency.

    Tying Off The Loose Ends

Watching the Brother Entrepreneur Pro PR 1000e go through its paces is truly an experience to treasure. This machine is fast, quiet and precise. It is much easier to operate than one might initially imagine, and the end result is impeccable.

Brother Entrepreneur Pro PR 1000e Creating Monogram

Every single one of the items produced on this oversized embroidery machine look as though they were produced in a professional embroidery shop.

The Brother Pro PR 1000e is an extremely large machine. It weighs 92 pounds and measures more than 20 inches wide, 23 inches deep and 31 inches high.

The mere size of this machine is somewhat daunting and is not suitable for small spaces.

We recommend that it not be considered for use in a room that is not well ventilated or large enough to accommodate its size on a permanent basis.

A machine of this size and weight cannot be moved about on a whim. In addition, constant movement could cause a misalignment of some of its computerized the components.

Although the Pro PR 1000e is surprisingly easy to thread and operate, we do not recommend use of this machine for the novice. A machine of this complexity and technological capability requires training, even for the advanced home sewer.

Without taking the time to learn how to use all of the Brother Entrepreneur Pro’s features and accessories, new owners stand to miss out on many of the great tasks this machine is capable of performing.

Having made that observation, we recommend the use of the Pro PR 1000e for advanced home sewers only.

The Brother Entrepreneur Pro "an extremely large machine"
The Brother Entrepreneur Pro “an extremely large machine”

This is not a machine for people who are just beginning to show interest in machine embroidery; nor is it for the individual who has been involved in machine embroidery for a short period of time and is not yet committed to a passion for machine embroidery.

Although it is designed for home use, the Brother Entrepreneur Pro PR 1000e is not a machine for the casual machine embroidery enthusiast. For starters, the $14,499 MSRP should make it very clear that this is not a machine for the casual hobbyist.

I believe that this machine should be reserved only for the machine embroidery enthusiast who is starting a home based embroidery business, for the individual who has an established embroidery business who wants to expand their inventory or for the professional tailor or dressmaker who wants to expand their offerings to include machine embroidered accents on personalized items such as blouses, shirts, coats, jackets, hats, caps, and accessories for their clients.

    1. I have a Brothers pr10000e embroidery machine and my #10 needle keeps saying to check upper and bobbin thread. I have rethread many times, changed the needle, clean the bobbin area. I have a Quattro 2 and never had these problems. I hope someone please please help me. Thank you in advance.

    2. Hello, Grace –

Thank you for visiting Sewing Insight.

Does this problem occur only with the #10 needle? How long has it been happening? Has your Brother PR 1000e been moved or shifted around? When was the last time it was serviced by an authorized Brother service provider?

It may just need a minor adjustment. Since this is a computerized machine, I strongly recommend that you contact your local authorized Brother service provider and schedule a service call.

      Happy stitching.

      1. I had the same problem. Had to take it back 3 times for service. They told me that there was some sticky substance on the spools. They got in and cleaned it up and so far, doing great. They also said part of it is a tension issue.

    3. Thanks for the info. My challenge is how to make the bobbin thread the same as the top. Projects like coasters, bookmarks, baskets, tanglers need to show both sides of the embroidery. Can I make my own bobbins??

      1. Hi Nancy,
Yes, you can. There is a Brother bobbin winder you can purchase or you can wind bobbins on another machine if you have one that uses the same size bobbing.

      2. The store where I purchased my machine had several different colors of pre-wound bobbins. Just a thought. 🙂

    4. hello. i have a question regarding this product. can you please please help me? im doing a project proposal about this embroidery machine to be passed this week. my questions are: what is the production capacity of PR-1000? are there standard sizes? how many pieces can it produce in a span of 8 hours, like say from simple design to complex design.

i will appreciate any reply. pls pls. thanks

      1. Hello, Icey –

Thank you for visiting Sewing Insight.

The number of projects completed in an 8 hour span is completely dependent upon the designs you select. Some take more time than others depending upon the size, the number of thread color changes and the number of stitches.

Since you are working on a business proposal, I suspect you will be required to answer other questions. Therefore, I suggest you follow this link in order to have information about all of the specifications at your fingertips. http://www.brother-usa.com/Homesewing/ModelDetail.aspx?ProductID=PR1000e#.VCwC3WddW4I

    5. do you have to use a hoop or driver with every embroidery project? I have baby booties that fit over the foot perfectly but not the cylinder frame or smallest hoop. I’m loving my machine and so are all the people enjoying my gifts!

      1. I have a Brother PR1000 – 10 needle with everything including cap hoop, fast frames, software, etc with minimum usage which I would like to sell for $9500. It is in excellent condition. I will ship at buyer’s expense.

    6. hello
i want to buy brother pro pr1000e embroidery machine – 10 needle.
i live in pakistan and i searched out many web sites for order but no one provided
any one please help me for buying this its very important for my work station
firstly let me know the price of this machine

      1. I use Madeira thread, both rayon and polyester, but there are many other choices. Just don’t go for a cheap thread because you will have more problems that you don’t want or need! I have heard people say that their machine “doesn’t like” a particular brand of thread, so I would advise you to try a few spools of whatever you decide to use before buying a large quantity. As for needles, the machine comes with Organ HAx130EBBR, #75/11, and I have used them for everything with great results. For very small and/or fine work you might want a smaller needle, but so far I haven’t needed to buy any other needles. I have a PR-620 as well and have been embroidering on both machines over the past 15 years.

      2. Hello, Ashley –

Thank you for visiting Sewing Insight.

The recommended needle size for the Brother Entrepreneur PR 1000 is HAx130EBBR. As for thread choices… you have lots of options. Any quality brand embroidery thread should work fine on this machine. FYI – Madeira seems to be the most widely used and the brand of choice for people who use machines such as this.

        Happy stitching.

    7. Hello!. Thanks for the opportunity to express some doubts. So, I don’t know anything about embroidery or sewing, but I want to open an express embroidery business in a mall. One of my problems is that here, in Panama, there are just two companies which offer post sell service (i guess very important for depending in high tech machines). One offers me a Brother Entrepreneur PR1000ec (10.800 $), or a Brother Entrepreneur PR650e (8.500 $); and the other company, a Janome MB 4 (3.500 $). As what I have in mind supposes to offer a custom express embroidery service, I don’t know if the Janome MB 4 could be enough . I prefer the Janome because of the cost, it seems more simple to handle for a beginner and they offer me thousands of free designs. I was also thinking in getting 2 machines (Janome) in such a case. But I am completely lost here. Another issue is related to the design part (if thought for custom embroidery at the moment in a mall ). Could anyone please give me some advices? Thanks a lot in advance!

      1. Hello Jorge –

Thank you for visiting Sewing Insight.

Since you do not have much experience with embroidery machines, I suggest you start with the most user friendly machine and then work your way up to a more complex machine as your skills improve. My recommendation would be to follow your instincts and go with the Janome to start out.

        Happy stitching.

    8. I have inherited a Brother enterprenuer pro 1000e recently. It pretty new, has upgrade package also. I was wondering if there are any on hands classes to learn how to use this machine. I have used it and done a few things for practice, but would love a class on this machine so I can have a small from home business.

      1. Hello, Trish –

Thank you for visiting Sewing Insight.

You might be able to locate a source for hands on instruction through an authorized independent Brother sewing machine dealer in or near your local area.

        Happy stitching.

    9. I have a Brother PR1000e – 10 needle machine for sale. It is brand new. I upgraded from a tabletop Janome and thought I would use it. It has never been used. Brand new..never registered so you can register it and have a full warranty. It comes with the heavy duty metal stand (795.00 reg retail), cap hoop, other frames, 2 tubes of stabilzer, and 2 partial tubes of stabilizer. Paid 11,995.00 for the machine will sell all listed items for 11,000.00.

    10. I have a Brother Entrepreneur Pro PR1000e for sale. Comes with all accessories including thread, stabilizer, bobbins, hoops, cap frame and more

      1. Hi – is the machine still for sale? If yes, price and where are you located? Thanks. Linda

    11. I have a PR1000e and cannot hoop a 4.5″ x 2.5″ design in my 5×7 hoop without the machine telling me that I need a larger hoop. Is there something that I do not understand?

    12. I have a PR1000 AND EVERY TIME I SEW IT STOPS AND I HAVE TO START IT AGAIN. IT SEWS ABOUT 50 STICHES AND STOPS, I HAD IT SERVICED NOT TO LONG AGO WHEN IT DID THIS AND ITS DOING IT AGAIN. THAT CAN BECOME VERY EXPENSIVE TO GET IT SERVICED EVERY COUPLE OF MONTHS, MAY YOU CAN HELP ME, THANK YOU.

      1. Hi Grace,
Have you tried changing the bobbin, rethreading the top spools? Also, if you have dropped the bobbin case, it could be a little bent or out of round ( not evident to the human eye). If it has been serviced recently, it could just be one of those simple fixes. I have experienced your problem and one of the 3 things I have mentioned fixed it!
        Good luck!
