Hi,, I would like to suggest reviewing the Singer Confidence Line in 2010 about. They do have the metal internal frame and good machines.
The Singer Stylist 7258 is also good for general sewing.
Also, Singer Graduate 714 is good and Touch & Sew 600-700.. I also like the Singer Merritt 6620 and others.
I hope that they bring more sewing machine manufacturing back to the US.. Mine are US and Taiwan, Brazil.
Dear Vickee –
Thank you for visiting sewinginsight.com and thank you for the suggestions. I value your input and the input of everyone who visits sewinginsight.com. I will be reviewing the Singer Confidence as soon as possible. Please continue to visit Sewing Insight. You’ll be seeing a review for the Confidence as well as other Singers along with the new crop of sewing machines and sergers in the very near future.

I don’t understand the pro and con marks for the different fabrics. Does a blue “X” mark next to “knits”, for example, mean that the machine doesn’t sew on knits very well? I was looking at the review for Bernina 550QE. Thank you for your explanation.
Hello, Sewjourne –
Thank you for visiting Sewing Insight.
The blue x marks and red checks for this particular machine got switched somewhere in cyberspace. Under normal conditions, the red checks indicate fabric types that the machine works well with. The blue x’s do not necessarily mean that you CANNOT sew those fabrics, but if you do, you might encounter problems.
I am very grateful to you for bringing this to our attention. The mistake will be corrected at once.
Happy stitching.
sorry, one more thing… here is the link to the shop with the machines http://www.thefrenchseam.com/necchi-dealer-indianapolis-sewing-machine.htm
Also, the guy at the shop said that one reason these machines were so much better was because all the parts are metal and not plastic.
